When Nilsa heard I was doing workshops with Projeto Educarte, she asked me if I could do the same at the kindergarten where she works.
Blue, red and yellow tempera.
Paintbrushes.
Square paper.
And off we were to paint with these children. At first they were very shy so I would sit with them, take their hand and paint with them.
Then they would relax, and paint, each with its own style.
Each one was important and we made a huge cardboard out of all these unique expression of self, it be ordered with dots, or more chaotic with colour splashes.
It was moving to hear them shouting "Tia, tia" when we met afterwards in the street.
